Wife's mother was a Pearson who originate so far to Kilconque in Fire but have spread to mother-in- laws family in Kinross. Would appear that majority of pearsons in Fife area originate from Dunfermline in 1600 - 1700 once capital of Scotland. Have visited most towns/villages in Fife area concerning Pearson family may be able to help, let me know.
Mike.

I have information back to George PEARSON marrying Ann (Agnes) NICOL on July 1801 in Burntisland. Their son Robert married Janet MITCHELL on 21 May 1844 (24 May 1844) in Burntisland/ Kinghorn. They emigrated to Tasmania, Australia.
There was another family of PEARSON'S in Burntisland during the same period. I can give more details if you think you have any relevant information.
Regards
Heather

My Pearsons start with a family of four brothers in Kinglassie, Fife. I don't know who the parents are. I have: 1)James, m.1754, Kinglassie, to Elizabeth Martin, 2)David, m. 1749, Leslie, to Betty Kirk, 3)Andrew, who m. Miss Bogie, and 4)Alexander. #1)James and Elizabeth had: 1.Jean,1756, 2.Janet,1758, 3.Jean,1760, 4.Ann,1761, 5.Alexander,1763,and 6.Margaret,1765. My ancestor, Elizabeth Pearson, who m.1786 to William Herd, d. 1 feb 1857, age 96, Auchterderran. On the dc. her parents are listed as: James Pearson and Elizabeth Martin. This gives her a birthdate of 1761.(1857-96=1761) However, there is no bc for her born to these parents. There is a bc for an Elizabeth Pearson to Andrew Pearson in 1761. At this point, I'm not sure who her parents are. Any help appreciated.
